Rushmore Court, Leopold

Project Value: $365K

Client: Private

Architect: Riordan Gough

Our brief was strong and incorporated two key elements - build a home customised to the current and pending needs of an aging retired couple, and deliver a home that reflects sophisticated design elements using a complimentary mix of materials to signify the client's lifetime trade as a builder.

We cut 800mm into the site to create a base for the house to be 'set' within.

We then delivered a three bedroom, two bathroom home with attached double garage incorporating a workshop, and low maintenance, highly private landscaped front and rear yard.

Key features within the home include the clerestory ceiling above the dining area, timber lined ceiling to the kitchen, gas fireplace, a facade with a complimentary mix and well considered floor plan distinguishing three zones: master wing, living area, and guest wing.

The house has been future proofed with wide doors for wheelchair access, zero thresholds throughout to reduce physical challenges, plywood to all wet areas to allow for future hand and grab rails, and careful use of materials to minimise maintenance requirements including painting and decking.
